Essential Workers

How I’m Managing Stress at Home with a Newborn during the Covid 19 Outbreak

To help me get through this stressful time, I’m employing some essential workers at home. In the morning, throughout my day, and in the evening, I use a little aromatherapy to help give me either the pick me up or relaxation that I need.

This post will feature affiliate links to one of my favorite brands of essential oils: Simply Earth.

I’ve mentioned this company before, but I’ve chosen to work with them because they offer pure, but affordable oils without the need to sign up, commit to monthly purchases etc. And they also offer fun monthly boxes that are full of great family friendly activities.

Use the link above or the code “OILSINTHEPARKFREE” to get a discount on their already affordable prices.

Christmas in…April??

I’m so excited that my husband is back at home. If you missed it, he is an ICU nurse and had quarantine himself from the family until we had enough data to bring him back home and still protect our 2 month old.

But, I’m also excited because now that he’s home, he can help me hang his Christmas present to me: My vintage specimen drawer turned essential oils cabinet.

What are my go to essential oils?

Pick me up love

…Now I have the song stuck in my head…

Before I grab my coffee in the morning, I love to reach for scent like lemon or grapefruit. Both are comforting and energizing and do wonders to help me get my butt out of bed, even after a night of being up multiple times with Fynn.

In addition to Simply Earth, I love the custom blends from Stinky Yogi. I had the pleasure of meeting and rooming with the founder over Wanderlust festivals and she is an amazing person but also really knowledgeable about essential oils. I trust that everything she makes is going to be really high quality ingredients and fabulous. I highly recommend her Surya blend.

Time to Unwind

In the evenings, I can always use some help. Whether it’s getting Fynn to fall asleep or to stop my mind from running marathons and get some sleep myself, a little bit of essential oil goes a long way. We each have a diffuser in our room. Mine is an old one that I grabbed from TJ Maxx back in the day. Fynn’s is an adorable owl diffuser from Young Living named Feathers.

My favorites are Lavender and Peace and Quiet from Simply Earth. We’ve been trying the SleepyIze in Fynn’s room. (Note: with Fynn being so young I do not use any oil topically on him).

What’s Essentially Next on my List?

Wool Dryer Balls!

Aside from nontoxic scents, I’ve heard great things about how these little gems minimize dry time. The only downside is that you can’t do megaloads…so I’m going to have to break some bad habits to start using these babies.
