Andalusian Baby Blanket Pattern Release

A Beautiful Baby Blanket for your Bundle of Joy.

There has been so much love for the Double Seed Stitch Baby Blanket that I cannot wait to release this pattern, its close cousin. The Andalusian Baby Blanket has been recently tested by a great group of knitters. And while some of them are still finishing up the blanket, we’ve gotten a great consensus on their feedback.

The loverly photos in this post are from one of my testing friends, Leslie DeMars.

Choose Your Own Adventure

The Andalusian Baby Blanket Pattern actually includes two separate patterns. One of the patterns offers the same double seed stitch border, while the second pattern offers a garter stitch border. Both are beautiful and I cannot wait to see which one you will choose.

Recommendations for the Andalusian Baby Blanket:

My go to for baby blankets recently has been the Premier Yarns, anti-pilling yarn. It’s machine washable and dry-able, and the fuzz from the natural pilling of yarn is swept away with each wash. Yup – washable, and no fuzz! And Premier yarns offers some great colors, and it’s really soft. I’m currently knitting this blanket in a grey and white marled yarn from Premier.

Any of their worsted weight yarn will work perfect for this pattern. You can most definitely use other weights but they might result in larger or smaller blankets.

Needles: For this you’ll need one cable needle at least 30 inches in length, in US size 8 or 5MM. If you use different yarn, you may want to go with the recommendation on that yarn label, or maybe knit a swatch to see what it looks like.

Quick Question about the Blanket Body of your Andalusian Baby Blanket. In Row 1 you say K to Marker and then at the end of the row K to end…I thought those 12 stitches were the border and always a combination of KI, PI or PI, KI???
