Half Way to Christmas!
Yelling that always makes me feel like the town crier in the Who’s movie. But we have arrived at the halfway to Christmas/holiday season mark! Now is a great time to start planning all of the projects that you need to make between now and the holidays. Then you won’t have to stress when everything comes down to the wire later in year. I’ve put together a free download for you to help plan everything out now that we’re half way to Christmas!
You can download the free planner here:
How to use the Planner
Just fill out the first page and then print the second page for each of the projects that you have planned. It can help you plan the perfect gifts and have enough time to complete them all but it goes beyond that. It helps you plan your materials so you can work with what is in your stash. Or, it will help you plan your shopping list.
You can also use this as a guide. If you don’t want to print it out, you can grab some paper that you already have and use these “buckets” to plan everything out. In fact, doing all of this on one larger sheet of paper like craft paper on your wall might epic for planning your holiday gift projects! It would also allow you to account for more crafts than just knitting or crochet!
Why Use a Planner?
I like the mental process of thinking and planning. This exercise helps to make sure that I don’t forget anyone or anything. It also helps me batch things. I can do all of the shopping all at once to save on shipping. During the actual creation process it helps me plan my order of making things too. For example, if I plan to make the same hat for my dad and husband, I can make them back to back while the pattern is still fresh in my mind.
I also love the gratification of crossing things off of a list. I make lists for the lists I want make. Halfway to Christmas, I’ve got lists for everything going on right now. We’re finishing our basement so I’ve got lists for all of the variables down there. Then we’re moving furniture from other rooms, so that’s another list. And that leaves potential for changing up some Christmas decor. I also want to make another Christmas tree skirt or two and film more of the process for my patterns. So that means I need to add those projects to a list as well.
I hope you find this list helpful and love planning your projects. If it saves you time, helps you stay organized, or just is cute, please let me know in the comments!
