Addy Hat for Babies

$3.00

Simple and easy to knit

The Addy Pattern for Babies and Toddlers is designed to be easy to follow.  There are no charts or complicated diagrams, just clear written instructions. All skills are broken down and you can find tutorials for some of these skills linked in the description below this listing.

This pattern fits babies through toddlers with a head size of 45cm or 17 inches to 50cm or 20 inches. The Addy Hat for babies and toddlers might fit heads outside of this range, I’ve not yet had the opportunity to test it though.

Description

The Addy, fit for babies and toddlers

The Addy Toddler Hat offers knitters the options of knitting a solid hat, or two different colors (one for the brim and one for the hat).  I recommend Caron Simply Soft yarns. I’ve knitted this hat in a combination of soft white, and Simply Soft Party in Silver Sparkle.  The combination is an adorable color combination that adds the right bit of flair while still being fit for everyday wear.  I’ve also knit the whole hat in Soft Blue and as you can see from the pictures it’s utterly adorable.

You have the option to knit a short brim, or a double/folded brim.  I’ve knit the hat in both and both have their merits.  The shorter brim makes it stretchier and more comfortable for babies to wear but it will slide around a little bit.  The double or folded brim makes the hat a bit warmer and it tends to stay in place a bit better.

You’ll Need the Following to Knit the Addy

Yarn: 1 Skein in your color of choice of Caron Simply Soft (or other medium/worsted weight yarn). 1 Skein of Caron Simply Soft Party, in the same weight.

Other Tools: US Size 3 Circular Needles US Size 3 DPNs and optional cable needle. Tapestry Needle Pompom tool or Finished Pompom Stitch Marker Note: I use my circulars in a magic loop style to knit the top of the hat but many knitters may prefer using DPNs.  I also use a DPN instead of a cable needle but the choice is yours here as well.
