Happy Anniversary to Me

Tomorrow I’ll be Celebrating my 2nd Wedding Anniversary Alone

They’ll be no makeup this year

I haven’t shared too much about this on my blog. If you follow my Facebook and Instagram you might have seen me post that my husband is an ICU nurse here in Pittsburgh. He’s been selflessly taking care of Covid patients and as such has separated himself from our family for our protection. This means however, that tomorrow I will be celebrating our second wedding anniversary alone. Happy Anniversary to me I guess…

We’ve not touched, hugged, kissed, or slept in the same house now for 23 days. My husband hasn’t held his baby in 23 days. My husband celebrated his birthday alone last week…or more accurately, with his coworkers in a Covid ICU.

Making it a Happy Anniversary Anyway

No Fancy Shoes

Up until this week, I’ve been having a really hard time with this situation. My husband drops groceries off in our garage, or swings by to mow the lawn, but not getting close to him hurts. Him not being close to his baby hurts. Last night in bed, the dog cried because he misses his daddy. Like actually cried, not whined. We spent the night cuddling each other in between feeding Fynn.

Yesterday we got to spend some time together but apart, and it helped a lot. It’s made not being able to see him on our anniversary a bit more bearable. But I’m determined to make it better than “a bit more bearable”.

I need your help to do that.

Will you celebrate my Anniversary with me?

I’ve marked all of my patterns down in my Ravelry store. For the next week you can grab any one of them for 35% off. If you’d like to celebrate with me, grab a pattern off my Ravelry or pint it off again if you already have one.

Let’s knit together this week. I’d love to see your WIPs and chat about knitting with my friends and followers. I might try to do some Lives and maybe will come up with a few more ideas on how we can get together virtually.

I’d love to grow closer and connect more with you, during this time more than ever.
