The Ada Beanie

Get the Pattern for the Ada Beanie and new faux fur pompom

Released just in time for Christmas, the Ada Beanie is now one of my all time favorite hat patterns. This hat pattern features fully written instructions, in a simple 8 row repeat. There are no charts or complicated sections to memorize or count out.

The digital download also includes instructions for making your very own faux fur pompoms. You can of course buy these pompoms but they can get a bit costly.

The Ada Beanie Knitting Pattern

There’s just something classic to this simple cable design so I wanted to pick a name that would reflect the feeling. One of my favorite Netflix series is Peaky Blinders. The character of Ada is the inspiration for the name of this pattern. Ada is a woman who is torn between two different worlds but is 100% classic.

In fact, if we were having a girl this name might have been in the running!

Here’s a photo of my dad’s side of the family (ironically the German not the Irish side which just perfect for the period)

Old world meets the new.

Yarn for this pattern: one skein of Lion Brand Heartland in the color Biscayne.

I love this yarn because it’s really soft, not scratchy like some other acrylics can tend to be. It’s made in the US. It’s affordable and can be found in your major yarn stores, which makes picking it up even easier. Its also washable which makes it great for gifting in my opinion.
