Addy Hat Knitting Pattern
One of my favorite hat patterns, the Addy Hat now comes in extended sizing options. I wanted to make a traditional cabled hat, but make it my own. There are a lot of different hat patterns out there. Which means that I am very appreciative of your time and consideration. Let’s get into the pattern.

What’s in the Addy Hat
Recommended Yarn:
Any worsted weight yarn will do. The yarn pictured is Caron Simply Soft. You can get this yarn at Michaels Craft Stores, or order it directly from the source with Yarnspirations. One skein is enough for all of the hat sizes. This is also perfect for mixing and matching colors. I’ve loved knitting the brim in white and the top of the hat in a marl or sparkle.
Flat or Folded Brim:
This hat is a bit of a choose your own adventure hat. If you like, you can knit a short and flat brim. Or if you’d like to add some warmth and don’t mind a bit of a chunkier brim you can knit a folded brim. This is simply knitting the brim twice as long, folding it to the inside, and then either knit it place. You can sew it in place later too if knitting it together is too finicky.
Messy Bun Option:
Lastly, you have the option of binding off early to leave a hole at the top for a messy bun or pony tail.
